Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas combines captivating storytelling, breathtaking 3D visuals and exciting gameplay into one epic action-adventure experience. Uncharted 1 has little to no gameplay decisions, other than finding the right guns and where to point and shoot, even climbing is a non decision.Oceanhorn Let's Play Walkthrough, Hermit's Island Basically Uncharted 1 doesn't do much to stand out besides its sequels, characters, and at the time top tier graphics.Ī game like Resident Evil 4 has aged so much better despite being 2 years younger is because it has a lot of difficult gameplay decisions like which guns to use, what guns to buy and upgrade, when to use the knife, etc. It was just a generic third person shooter with bland climbing sections, Uncharted 2 mixed things up by adding more interesting puzzles, climbing sections, and excellent setpieces, as well as improving the story. Uncharted 1 has aged well due to great art design and great and funny characters, but not much else gameplay wise. I definitely saw how it has influenced games like Gears of War and the Last of Us. I didn't find it that clunky besides the tank controls, which actually helped the horror aspect of the game so it was fine. After getting used to RE4, the gameplay was very tight and has aged pretty well today.
Uncharted 1 pc gameplay upgrade#
I played Resident Evil 4 about a month ago, the enemies are less bullet spongy if you headshot and upgrade guns, plus you can use the knife to almost never use a bullet. See you in a bit when Im done with Uncharted 2 for the next post.

Im more into the story already, new characters are great and the cutscenes are super cool. I started Uncharted 2 today and already see the MASSIVE improvement. Maybe the gaming landscape 13 years ago was totaly different, I dont really remember, so that this game brought something new and exciting?īut playing it, I felt frustrated most of the time. And while Im glad it got sequels I dont understand why. Im actually really surprised that this game got so much praise back in the day and even now. But watching a lets play might have been better. Overall Im happy I played this game, I learned about the characters so that I can enjoy them more in the next games. I know this game is like 13 years old by now. It feels like the AI uses an aimbot all the time. Enemies are health sponges, you get killed real easy. There wasnt enough ammo for the amount of enemies. I played on normal and later put it down to easy becouse the gameplay here just sucked. This is the worst shooting and gunplay I ever played in my life. Sometimes it was really clunky and Nate just didnt hang on to stiff he should have. Some section felt cool and gave you cool vistas, others I felt where pointless or too slow. I guess this game is the grandfather of the "cinematic climbing" we have in so many games today. Elena is my favorite for sure, but the whole chemistry between Nate, her and Sully is great. Going hand in hand with story are the characters. I didnt know this was where the game was going at all. The supernatural element at the end did surprise me. If I had watched a playthrough I would probably have enjoyed this more.

Nothing amazing but not bad, the pacing was held back for me becouse of the gameplay which kinda sucked.
